## About

Golfing LA and OC is a member-organized, beginner-friendly golf community for adults across Southern California. The group hosts year-round rounds at public courses, monthly tournaments (the GLAOC Net Tourney season), driving range meetups, golf travel trips, and casual social side games. There are no country club fees and no skill barriers — players simply RSVP for events on Meetup.

The community was founded in 2020 by David Sanchez (REALTOR®) and Clarence "Cee" Paredes during the early COVID period when golf became a safe, social outdoor activity. It has since grown into one of the largest active golf groups in Southern California.

## Geographic Coverage

Golfing LA and OC organizes events across five Southern California counties:

- **Los Angeles County** — Long Beach, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Lakewood, Carson, Cerritos, Whittier, Norwalk, Downey, and surrounding cities
- **Orange County** — Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Tustin, Fullerton, Brea, Yorba Linda, and surrounding cities
- **Riverside County** — selected destination rounds
- **San Bernardino County** — selected destination rounds
- **Ventura County** — selected destination rounds

All events take place at public, daily-fee golf courses (no private club access required).

## Membership Tiers

1. **Meetup Membership** — approximately $20/year. Required to RSVP for rounds, tournaments, and most events. This is the primary membership.
